Without it checked, it would go in as $5201.00. Automatically place decimal point – with this checked, 5201 goes in a $52.01.Pressing Enter moves between fields – This make your Enter key act like your Tab key when entering data in an invoice, for example – Enter will move you to the next field, rather than saving the invoice & starting a new one.On the General – My Preferences page, I like the following: Switch to Top Icon Bar – for those of you who don’t like the newer Left Icon Bar, you can switch it back to the Top (like older versions of QB)Ĭompany File Color Scheme – If you work with several QB Company Files, you can give each a different color scheme to make it easier remembering which company file you’re in.Don’t Save the Desktop (when closing QB) – If you Save the Desktop & you have 1o reports open when closing QB, when you open QB again, all 10 reports must open & run before you can access QB.

On the Desktop View – My Preferences page, these are my preferences: (Note: the images below are from Quickbooks Premier 2016, so yours might look slightly different, if you’re in an earlier version of Quickbooks). Preferences are saved in the company file, so if you work with multiple QB company files, you’ll need to change preferences in each company file. The Company Preferences can only be made by the Admin user. Any user can make changes to their own preferences on this page. You’ll also notice there are 2 pages for each area – My Preferences and Company Preferences.Īny changes made to the My Preferences page only affect the user who is signed into Quickbooks.
